Due to the limitations of Bluetooth connections, a wireless headset operates as two distinct devices:
- A Headphone device (high quality stereo audio + no microphone input) or
- A Headset device (lower quality mono audio + microphone input)
Some Bluetooth headsets are able to dynamically swap between these devices. But others need to be manually assigned to work with the game. If you are using a Bluetooth headset and have audio but no microphone, or vice versa, it may be because of a miss-match between the headset and headphone devices.
On Windows 11 you can get your wireless bluetooth headset working with these steps:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the Taskbar, and select Open Volume Mixer
- Open Big Walk
- Alt-tab to return to the Volume Mixer. You should see Big Walk in the list
- Expand Big Walk by clicking the arrow on the right
- Make sure the output and input device are both set to the headset device
We recommend playing Big Walk with a standalone microphone or wired headset, if available. This will allow you to enjoy stereo audio, and better experience the highly spatialised and directional sound design.
